In November last year Samsung has shown their latest and also their first transparent LCDs, and now Samsung Electronics already officially announced that the company will start the mass production of their 22-inch transparent LCDs.
Samsung 22-inch Transparent LCDs reportedly will comes with a 500:1 contrast ratio with WSXGA+ 1680 x 1050 resolution. Samsung Transparent LCD panel boasts the world’s best transparency rate of over 20% for the black and white type, while the color type reach over 15 percent.
The benefit of this Transparent LCD is it has a high transparency rate which allow you to see through like a glass and it consumes 90% less electricity compared with conventional LCD panel that using backlight unit. Other benefit includes the transparent display panels panels have endless possibilities as an advertising tool, which can be applied to show windows and outdoor billboards or used in showcase events. Unfortunately no word on availability or pricing at this moment.
