Minister of Health Jens Spahn (CDU) announced on Thursday afternoon about the corona pandemic in Germany. He described the current situation as “calm before the storm”, because in the next few weeks many people with severe cases of the lung disease Covid-19 will be hospitalized. Around 360,000 people are currently being tested for the Sars-Cov-2 virus in Germany every week. Soon there could be more, because the company Bosch today presented a test in which the result is already determined after two and a half hours.
The Federal Government also commented on the food supply situation. It is still good, and hamster purchases in the past few weeks have also decreased. However, no seasonal workers have been allowed to enter Germany since Wednesday. In agriculture, however, harvest helpers are urgently needed. Therefore, it should be made easier for students and people who are currently on short-time work to help out there. And the ban on working for asylum seekers could also be lifted.
As in every episode of the What now?-Updates we also answer the question of a listener who reached us on Facebook: Where can I get help if I have lost my mini job due to the Corona crisis?
